Coding a Mobile Game

During our session this week at ESF South Island School, Youth4Youth was amazed at how quickly the students picked up the coding skills required to create a mobile game. The focus of our session this week was to use the BSD Online platform to code a game in JavaScript. After teaching the students the basic JavaScript commands and syntax, we split them into groups of three to four to work on creating a mobile game.

We took the students through the step-by-step process of making a game which they were able to customise later on. This was a really exciting and unique experience for the students, and it really helped them develop a love for technology as well as consider taking Computer Science as a GCSE subject choice!
